Grant open until 31 March 2027

Fully funded EV charging for schools and Academy Trusts in Cornwall & Devon

State-funded schools can install staff and visitor EV chargers with little or no money from the school budget. The Workplace Charging Scheme covers up to 75% (max £2,000 per socket), the VAT is recovered, and the rest is paid back from charging revenue. We handle the survey, design, grant and installation.

    How it's funded

Three parts cover the cost, so the school doesn't need a capital budget.

    75%

    Government grant

OZEV Workplace Charging Scheme for state-funded education institutions, up to £2,000 per socket (from 1 April 2026), up to 40 sockets.

    VAT

    Recovered by the school

The school pays the VAT on the invoice and recovers it in line with HMRC guidance for its VAT status.

    Rest

    Driver funded

Any remaining balance is repaid over time from a small share of charging revenue, paid by the drivers who use the chargers.

VAT treatment depends on your school's status and HMRC guidance. Final figures are confirmed after the site survey.

    We do the hard work

    1. Free site survey

We visit your car park and check your power supply to find the best charger locations and confirm load capacity.

    2. Design & funding

We draft the charger layout, handle any network operator paperwork and prepare the grant application for you.

    3. Installation

Once you're happy with the design we fix a date and install, then set up payments and show staff how it works.

    Income, not admin

    • The school sets its own price per kWh: cover the electricity or add a margin.
    • Drivers scan a QR code on the charger, see the price, pay and charge.
    • No ongoing platform cost to the school; drivers pay a small transaction fee.
    • One monthly payment to the school for all sessions, with automatic reports.
    • Staff only, or open to visitors and the public out of hours.

    Net zero and learning

    • Helps cut staff and visitor travel emissions (Scope 3) on your net zero plan.
    • Shows parents and the community a forward-thinking, sustainable school.
    • Real charging data makes a live project for science and sustainability lessons.
