Charge guests and drivers for the electricity they use

Without the right software, your charger only charges your own car and you pay for everyone else's. We connect it to Tap Electric so drivers pay you back, at no monthly cost to you.

    What the software does

    Who can charge

Guests only, staff, family or the public. You decide.

    Your price

Set a price per kWh, with free charging for you.

    Easy payment

Drivers pay by app, QR code, RFID card or contactless.

    You get paid

Money is collected for you and paid out every month.

    Remote control

See every session and fix issues from your phone.

    Two things to check first

Most chargers will work. These are the two things that decide it.

    Is your charger OCPP compliant?

Any charge point that is OCPP compliant can be onboarded with Tap — that's what unlocks the clever stuff, like setting your own prices and taking payments from drivers. Not sure about yours? Just Google the model you've got together with the word "OCPP". If it comes up, we can connect it. Or send us the make and model on WhatsApp and we'll check for you.

Is there a good Wi-Fi signal at the charger?

The charger needs an internet connection to talk to Tap — that's how sessions show up, your prices update and payments get collected. A weak Wi-Fi signal where the charger is fitted is the most common cause of problems, so it's worth checking before we visit. Chargers with a SIM can use a mobile signal instead.

    Passing on the electricity cost

A guest tops up their car with 30 kWh during their stay.

    Your electricity cost at 25p

    £7.50

Guest pays at your 45p price

    £13.50

    Left over for you

    £6.00

Example figures only, not a quote. A driver fee of up to 15% is added on top for the guest — and that fee can be lower with a Tap membership.

Tap Electric vs Monta vs Fuuse

All three run smart chargers and take payments. The difference is who pays, and how much.

    Why we choose Tap

    Nothing for you to pay

No monthly fee and no cut of your charging money. The driver pays a service fee of up to 15% instead — and that drops if you take out a Tap membership, so there's a way to pay less.

    No contract

Stay because it works. Your charger can move platform any time.

    Built for small sites

Ideal for holiday lets, B&Bs and small businesses with 1 to 10 chargers.
