Get more from your solar and battery
Thinking about solar, or already have it? We help you choose the right tariff, set your battery up to run itself against live prices, get paid for what you export, and make your EV charger earn its keep.
Thinking about adding solar?
Whether it's a family home, a holiday let or a commercial site, we help you plan solar, battery and EV charging together, or improve a system you already have. Most people install the kit and never get the set-up right. That's where we come in.
The part most installers don't specialise in
Most solar firms are great at what they do — local crews fitting good kit, and chosen for a reason. But installing the panels is a different job to getting everything around them set up correctly: the grid connection, the export paperwork, the tariff and the battery automation. That's rarely their speciality, and it's where most of the money is.
Take what you get paid for exporting. Plenty of utility companies don't offer very much — often around 12p for every unit you send back, and many people never look past it. On the right tariff, sold at the right time of day, the same unit can earn considerably more, and a battery set up properly stores cheap power so it can be sold at peak instead.
You don't have to settle for 12p a unit — there are far better options out there, and setting them up correctly is exactly what we do.
What you end up with
The right tariff
Octopus import and export tariffs matched to your kit and how you use power, such as Agile with Agile Outgoing, or Flux.
A battery on autopilot
Your battery charges when power is cheap, powers your home, and exports when prices peak, planning around the solar forecast.
Paid by the grid
Signed up to Axle Energy, which pays you when the network needs homes to shift or export power.
Export paperwork done
Your export tariff applied for, so you're paid for every unit you send back to the grid.
An EV charger that pays its way
Charge holiday guests, earn from other drivers, or let company-car drivers claim back home charging.
Someone to ask
A named contact for the first weeks, so you always know who to call.
One day on a smart tariff
Prices change every half hour. Your battery charges when power is cheap and exports in the 4pm to 7pm peak.
Example prices only, not a quote.
Choosing the right tariff
The wrong tariff can wipe out most of the savings from solar and a battery.
Fixed tariff
One price all day. Simple, but your battery can't take advantage of cheap hours. Suits homes without a battery.
Half-hourly (e.g. Agile)
Price changes every 30 minutes. Charge your battery or car when it's cheapest. Needs a working smart meter.
Time-of-use (e.g. Flux)
Cheap overnight, higher in the evening peak, with a better export rate at peak. Great for solar plus battery.
Export tariff
Gets you paid for every unit you send back. Often the biggest win people miss after installing solar.
